Equipment is where pools succeed or fail long-term: filtration and pump sizing, heating or chilling units if you want the pool usable outside peak summer, underwater lighting, and any water features are all specified upfront rather than retrofitted, since retrofitting almost always costs more and can compromise the shell's waterproofing if done carelessly. Decking, coping stones, and the surrounding landscaping are part of the same project rather than a separate scope, so the whole area gets finished together instead of the pool sitting done while the surrounding ground is unfinished for weeks.
